Intersting question - school definitely has a huge influence on the behaviour of a child, of that I am convinced. There are so many external influences coming together - but does school influence a personality. I can't see how it can't given that there are expectations on children to behave a certain way - and have to fit in I guess to a certain extent. Interesting - you have given me fodder for a blog article for Happy Sensitive Kids for sure!!

Thanks for linking up #ExpatLifeLinky

Did you ever read the book Back Home by a lady called Michelle Magorian all about the experiences of an English ear evacuee brought up by a family in the US and then returned, at the end of the war, to the UK. I reckon your two daughters would find it fascinating.

Yeah, I really do wonder how different my kids would be if they were growing up in USA and in American schools. I love their Britishness but part of me longs for them to be more 'Americanized' LOL. #ExpatLifeLinky

An interesting post, I've been an expat teacher in international schools for far too long. Parents often forget how much of the day children spend in school and with other children and the influences that come with that... My husband is english but brought up in Kenya and has never really fitted into british life. The swap sounds interesting too, thanks for sharing #expatlifelinky
