My first-born baby boy is thirteen today. How exciting for him! He is now a teenager and is entering a new phase in his young life. My how he’s grown up over the past few years, sniff sniff. Why am I so emotional? It’s just a number right? I suppose it’s because he’s growing up too fast and in only a matter of a few years, he’ll be thinking about going out into the world on his own – without me. I think there’s some significance when your children become teenagers. There’s a lot about them that changes and I suppose the relationship between parent and child changes a bit too.

OK so here goes the bragging!

My thirteen year old son is incredibly handsome looking, has a very sweet disposition, is uber cool amongst his friends, is kind to animals and younger children (like his 5 year old brother), loves turtles and lizards, is compassionate and tolerant, can cook an evening meal including dessert by himself and for others, has over 6000 followers on his youtube, is an A+ student in French, Maths and Science (I know they don’t use the A+ system here but I don’t know the British way to describe that), can swim 1.2 miles in one go, never litters and encourages his friends to not litter, is a good and thoughtful friend, has his father’s sense of humour, is an avid reader, likes writing, loves gaming, is typically British in style and manner and loves American food such as Mac & Cheese, classic hot dogs and Cheetos.
