Glorious Britain in Spring time

Spring in Britain is definitely my favorite season. Summer is always disappointing no matter what because we expect it to be hot and it rarely ever is. Winter is just cold and damp, and Autumn marks the end of summer – most times before it even begins. So Spring is perfect because if the weather is warm and the skies sunny, it’s a bonus and we feel ecstatic and label it a ‘heatwave’. I also love all the flowers in bloom, the lighter evenings and the general uplifting feel that summer is on its way (we hope). It also means we can spend more time outside, people are generally more smiley which isn’t saying a lot but it’s better than nothing 🙂 and there is more opportunity to play and do outside activities. Like even simple things such as lunching outside in my garden!

We’ve been down to the beach a few times already, mostly during the Easter holidays and have turned off our central heating. That’s always a great feeling. It’s like a slow and deliberate emergence from our winter caves.

We have Playing Out days to look forward to, beach days, sporadic and spontaneous outings to various playgrounds, summer outings, ice creams on the beach, walking in the Downs and day trips to the capital all ahead of us. Don’t know about you but I’m excited! Kids less so….. nowadays it’s all about the tech. Used to be a beach or playground or even a vacant field would suffice. Not so now with teenagers! I feel we must be more imaginative and use our powers of parental persuasion.
